I just returned from Dallas and wanted to post: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live with the fact that you had killed somebody while driving, and it was entirely your fault because you were involved in a DUI or DWI? Worse than that, your victim was a baby, just seven months old.
A heartbreaking story was posted yesterday, October 27, 2010, under the headline, “Driver who hit man, baby at bus stop facing intoxication manslaughter charge.” Courtney Zubowski, Lisa Chavarria, and Leigh Frillici reported the story for Houston’s khounews.com, about a baby left with personal injury and his father left dead after being hit by a woman driving under the influence. Someone may need a Personal injury attorney Houston in this said case.
The article said that according the Houston police, Brenda Gail Johnson may have been under the influence of prescription drugs when she drove her SUV into a bus stop on West Little York yesterday at 9 am, killing 31-year-old Theodore Jones, and injuring his baby boy, Seth.
The khounews.com piece said Brenda Gail Johnson’s SUV struck Jones and clipped the stroller, leaving Jones dead at the scene. Jones’s baby son was taken to the hospital with a broken arm.
The victim’s wife, Megan Jones, was quoted as saying, “I basically see the whole thing over and over, so I remember the whole thing…….”
Megan Jones also has a seven-year-old who was at school at the time of the accident.
Megan was also quoted as saying, “My husband is just that great,,,,,” she said. “At first I was hysterical…”
The young family had apparently been on their way to a doctor’s appointment. Megan Jones is pregnant. Fortunately she suffered only scratches and scrapes.
The news article also reported that, according to police, Johnson just continued driving after she struck Jones and the baby, “weaving her way down West Little York.”
It was also reported that an Houston Police Dept officer in question, who had received a report of the erratic driver by a witness, had actually been following Johnson. The officer put on his lights after he saw her crash into the bus stop. Dallas is also bad for DUI and also the DWI. Soeaking of that i can endorse this particular Dallas DUI attorney as he is highly respected in Dallas and also does criminal defense as well as the said DWO plus DUI type cases overall.
According to the officer Johnson’s SUV finally left the roadway, ran into a ditch, hit a culvert, flipped over and smashed into the right side of a Honda Accord near T.C. Jester.
The article reported that the Honda driver was not injured, but Johnson was transported to Memorial Hermann in stable condition, where she was treated for injuries and her blood was taken for testing.
After her release she was arrested.
Johnson’s husband has said she is extremely remorseful over the results of her actions.
